My name is David Martin and I am a PADI dive instructor  (IDC-SI 298496) with years of experience and hundreds of dive certifications issued. I have already taught three dozens of different courses, mostly specialties. In 2015 I received the PADI Elite Instructor award for certifying more than 50 students in 2015, which is attonishing tacking into account that I taught in Namibia, a semiarid country.

In August 2016 I came back to Spain. For the last four years I taught at the Windhoek Underwater Club, in Namibia (where I standed as the training officer). I fly a pSCR rebreather (Tres Presidentes) on all my deep tec dives, and I teach from Open Water to Technical diving, including sidemount or gas blending. I also wrote my own PADI specialty (Limited Visibility Diver) based on the way we dive in our low visibility environment.

Before I started teaching diving, I worked in human rights and development, lived in several countries,  and I had quite a good number of articles published. But life changes and diving became the activity I really wanted to do. And here I am…

Me llamo David  Martín Castro  y soy un instructor PADI de buceo (IDC-Staff Instructor 298496) con años de experiencia y cientos de certificaciones emitidas. He enseñado una treintena de cursos diferentes, la mayor parte especialidades. En 2015 recibí el reconocimiento de PADI Elite Instructor Award, por certificar más de 50 alumnos en 2015, lo que es sorprendente teniendo en cuenta que enseñaba en Namibia, un país semidesértico.

En agosto 2016 regrese  a España por cuestiones familiares. Durante los últimos cuatro años enseñe en el Windhoek Underwater Club, en Namibia, donde era responsable de la formación. Todas mis inmersiones técnicas profundas las hago con un reciclador de aire pSCR  (Tres Presidentes) y enseño desde buceo básico hasta técnico, pasando por sidemount o mezcla de gases. Creé mi propia especialidad aprobada por PADI  (buceo en visibilidad limitada) basada en la forma en que buceábamos en Namibia.

Antes de enseñar buceo, trabajaba en derechos humanos y cooperación internacional, viviendo en varios países y habiendo publicado un buen número de artículos. Pero la vida cambia y ahora me dedico a hacer lo que me gusta que es enseñar buceo. Y aquí estoy…
